New Cycle Hub at Didcot station, offering spaces for 600 more bikes

Blackberry lane Aug 19, heading north. Public footpath only (cycling not permitted, or really possible). Not the most overgrown section - Just north of the farm in Toot Baldwin gambles and nettles covered the path.

A cyclist on a ride from Wantage along ncn 544 takes a breather on the old railway embankment before resuming the trip to Didcot.

A questionable bit of routing sends NCN 57 up/down a steep hill here. People may prefer to use the two straighter shallower roads to reach Wheatley slightly slower but with less effort.

Two-way cycle track ends abruptly, dumping you into the same volume of traffic as the link road just because it is now 30mph

How badly installed can cycle parking be? Market Place, Wallingford

This is an utterly fantastic place to ride to for lunch. Meals are great and beer from the barrel. The view is spectacular with red kites flying though it all the time. The area is criss-crossed with quiet lanes and offroad tracks, perf ... [more]

Sign at the beginning of the Hanson Way. Sadly the route is used for dumping so can be strewn with litter. It's a useful link between Didcot and Sutton Courtenay, although it's not easy to find quiet connecting routes.

Sadly no cycling seems to be defaulted in quite a few places along this section of the Ridgeway Trail. It effectively means anyone cycling it has to abandon the route between Goring and Watlington. There are a number of quiet single-lan ... [more]

Fantastic view over the Chilterns near Wallingford. The King William the Fourth" is great pub with behind-the-bar-barrels of Brakspears, although be prepared for home counties prices. I've sat here on many occasions and invariably watch ... [more]

Great view across the Vale of the White Horse from the top of the Chilterns near Wallingford.
